  • Abstract
    According to the functional requirements of vehicle monitoring and early-warning, a system hardware solution and modularized software structure were put forward. Through embedded development technology, vehicle monitoring and early-warning system was developed based on UNO2170 industrial computer of Advantech with WinCE operating system using Embedded Visual C++ (EVC), which combined with multi sensor data acquisition technology, global positioning system (GPS) and general packet radio service (GPRS). It real-time monitored abnormal vehicle states and achieved two-way communication between test vehicle and monitoring center. This system was installed in a light truck (CA1046L2). Road tests were conducted through a CA1046L2 light truck with the developed system using pre-set failure test method. The developed system reacted rapidly to the pre-set vehicle failures and performed stably with good results, which had great significance for raising transportation efficiency and security.
