Abstract
The paper presents design and implementation of dimmable electronic ballast with TRIAC dimmer. The system is configured with an integrated single-stage converter, a TRIAC dimmer and a frequency modulation circuit. The firing angle α of the TRIAC dimmer is sensed as a reference to adjust the operating frequency of the system to achieve a dimming feature. The designed system can improve for the dimming level problem under low firing angle.
