Abstract :
Atomic coordinates and computer graphics are used to compose and define input parameters to a computer program, "SCULPT", which generates "G" code for a cnc milling machine. Molecular models or sculptures are carved from a single piece of wood or, for more elaborate models of binding sites, are carved from successive planks of wood, which are then laminated. The method is briefly described and examples of recent models and sculptures are given, together with a brief overview of molecular modelling.
