Abstract :
This paper presents an ultra-capacitor serial hybrid electric solution for the suburb bus cycle of Shanghai City. The comparative analysis is made between Shanghai suburb bus cycle and Chinese typical suburb bus cycle, and then the driving power is calculated by energy-difference algorithm. Considering the total power requirements and the characteristic of ultra capacitor, an ultra-capacitor serial hybrid-electric solution is presented. Simulation results indicate that the new solution yields the desired results and the fuel efficiency is 19% higher than conventional solution.
