Abstract :
Micro and nano-sized protrusions are formed on polytetra-fluoroethylene (PTFE) surface by ion-beam irradiation. This surface becomes water-repellent at very high level. In this study, we converted the PTFE protrusions to carbon protrusions by chemical defluorination process and composition, structure and morphological changes were investigated.
