Abstract
A large Rogowski coil is applied to measure the lightning surge current of large objects such as telecommunications towers and building pillars. A large Rogowski coil was constructed with several short Rogowski coils to improve its frequency characteristics. The frequency characteristics were calculated using SPICE and measured. The calculated results agree closely with the measured results and indicate improved frequency characteristics. The number and diameter of the coils needed to achieve sufficient frequency characteristics are given
