Abstract :
A low noise converter has been designed and fabricated for Ka-band communication systems. The components of low noise converter are the LNA and the balance mixer. The converter has following parameters: the noise figure is less than 6.0 dB, the input frequency range is from 36 to 38 GHz, the output frequency is 1.2 GHz and and the conversion gain is 15 dB. The key element of the LNA is the GaAs FET
