Abstract :
Man-made radio frequency noise emitted from electrical and electronic apparatus is well known to be a major cause of performance degradation of digital radio communication systems. In this paper, in order to decrease the effect of man-made radio noise on the bit error rate performance of the π/4-shift QPSK modulation system, we employ the Bose-Chaudhuri-Hocquenghem (BCH) forward error correction coding scheme. Numerical results demonstrate that, under man-made radio noise environments, the improvements in the performances of the π/4-shift QPSK system can be achieved by using the BCH coding scheme
