  • Abstract
Service industry is an important driving force for the sustainable development of Guangdong´s economy in the future, and the shift from manufacturing-driven growth to service-driven growth should be promoted to improve the quality of Guangdong´s economic growth. In this paper, the authors first present an overview on Guangdong´s service industry, with those problems related to service industry development being illustrated in this and the following section. The strategies the authors propose to promote the development of service industry in Guangdong Province are as follows: 1) institutional reformation; 2) reallocation of factors of production among regions; 3) integrating service industry into the socio-economic system.
