Abstract :
Summary form only given, as follows. A fuzzy connectionist expert system with learning capabilities is described. The system uses a recruitment-of-cells learning algorithm for knowledge acquisition, and also allows the translation of rules into an equivalent connectionist network. The system contains conventional expert system features such as explanation and consultation facilities. Tests have been conducted to see its capabilities of learning knowledge bases of classification domains from examples, and in all cases it has been compared favorably against existing conventional systems.<>
