Abstract :
A vertically-polarized electromagnetic wave is strongly scattered by the hanger ropes of a large suspension bridge. Sometimes this causes a TV-ghost problem. This TV-ghost problem was theoretically calculated. Then, cylindrical wave absorbers constructed from a combination of dielectric and magnetic material were designed to suppress the scattering. This paper theoretically shows that using this absorber decreases the TV-ghost problem
