Abstract
Advances in computer-aided design of microwave integrated circuits are reported. In recent years coplanar integrated circuits have become more and more interesting especially for millimeter-wave applications. But the design of microwave and millimeter-wave coplanar circuits has been a difficult task because design tools for components were not available. The state of the art and the progress made in this area, especially in the author´s research group, are discussed. It is shown that accurate models for single and coupled coplanar lines and for line discontinuities as well as for lumped elements are available. The application of these models to the design of microwave and millimeter-wave integrated circuits is demonstrated
