One of the most recently developed high-power, high-brightness direct-diode sources included the angled-grating distributed-feedback (α-DFB) laser diode. The α-DFB laser is an advanced-design semiconductor laser comprised of a broad-area stripe with an intracavity grating that provides both spectral and spatial mode discrimination
