Abstract :
The homogeneity of the magnetic field inside a magnetically shielded room is of great importance in some biomagnetic and other applications. In this paper, the authors report on investigations concerning the optimization of the homogeneity of the magnetic field inside a certain observation volume. The magnetic field is generated by four rectangular current loops placed inside a magnetically shielded room. A comparison is made with results published for unshielded coil systems
