Abstract :
In automobile manufacturing industry, in order to meet both manufacture precision and speed requirements, the virtual assembly for the tooling of automobile body part is increasingly employed based on its obvious advantages such as lower-cost and easy-modification than the factual operation on the press line. While, because of the complex surface of the body part and the discontinuous length of the standard parts, especially the link arms, the actual operation workflow does not get simplified, which leads to that the tooling structure fully depends on the operational experience ,and the assembly adjusting work fully depends on manual operation on the 3-D CAD software platform. To solve the problem, the mathematic essence of the tooling assembly is analyzed, and the robot kinematics model based on the Denavit-Hartenberg convention for describing the position of robots in 3-D space is introduced to establish the tooling assembly model. Finally the computational result shows that the method is high effective especially in the tooling 3-D assembling and the time-saving. By this means, the real automatic assemble is realized in the virtual environment first time.
