Abstract :
In this paper, the key technology of hardware design on the communication protocol processing unit is given from the views of the system function, resource requirement, power consumption limit, signal transmission, processing speed and power supply mode according to foundation fieldbus (FF) communication protocol and demands on the intrinsic safety. System architecture, communication controller usage, single-chip selection, medium attachment unit (MAU) design and system resolution etc. were discussed. The device has got across the interoperability standard test of foundation fieldbus.
