Abstract
This paper presents a novel approach to the design and implementation of controllers for variable-speed drives using Simulink and FPGA software. A rapid prototyping platform based on FPGA is proposed and described. The design procedure using this platform is presented to illustrate the important steps. An application example using a DTC induction motor drive is presented and discussed.
