Abstract :
Considering current flood storage capacity of Poyang Lake, the focus is on the relation between the changes in water level of Poyang Lake and flood losses and its impact. This paper conducts forecast and fast evaluation on the losses caused by flood, analyzes the impact of water level fluctuations on resources development, and puts forward countermeasure for flood around Poyang Lake. It indicates that the risk of Poyang Lake flood increases rapidly in last 50 years, which is a critical reason for increasing aggravation of flood. Non-precipitation factor causes different hydrological risks of flood in different years. A disastrous flood may constrain economic development in that year, and influence the speed of economic development in the future. The model of disaster loss evaluation based on Pearl Curve Model shows that the improvement of flood control capacity will reduce relative economic loss caused by flood. After flood control capacity is improved, absolute economic loss caused by flood may be controlled.
