Abstract
This paper is devoted to the development of a reliable genetic-based algorithm for solving the load-flow problem. In the algorithm, the floating-point coding method is employed. A method for dealing with the power balance equations and the voltage magnitude constraints in the load flow problem is also developed. The developed algorithm can solve for the normal operation solutions and the abnormal operation solutions using appropriate fitness functions. It is demonstrated through its applications to the Klos-Kerner 3-busbar system and the Ward-Hale 6-busbar system
