Abstract
The development of physics and technology of ultrawideband radiation allowed one to radiate into space electromagnetic pulses with a nanosecond duration and power up to 1 GW. The application of such impulses for radar detection of both air and underground objects has been promising. When a received signal is a finite set of digital data, a number of problems concerning the determination of properties of the sounding objects appears. The conclusions drawn form the investigations are summarised
