Abstract :
Carrier aggregation (CA) has been regarded as an important technology for Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE A), which is introduced to meet the requirement of very-high rate-data transmission over wide bandwidths. In this paper,primary component carrier (PCell) and secondary component carrier (SCell) are considered and handover is based on the PCell. The handover performance of relaxing SCell measurement period in the LTE-A system with CA has been discussed. Furthermore, it gives the result of how long SCell measurement period could be relaxed at most when the speed of user equipment is constant.
