Abstract

The dedicated foundry industry started 10 years ago with the establishment of TSMC and has blossomed into a multi-billion business today. As we look into the next decade, we believe that technology strategies are playing an ever important role in determining the success of foundry companies. Leading edge manufacturing technology, advanced and flexible computer integrated manufacturing (CIM) system, and embedded module technologies are the areas that will be the challenges to the industry.
