Abstract
The concept of the composite CMOS transistor reported by E. Seevinck and R.F. Waseenar (1988) is generalized and extended to include both composite bipolar and composite BiCMOS transistors. It is shown that a composite BiCMOS transistor is essentially equivalent to an MOS transistor. Two versions of this device are discussed: the stacked and the folded versions. Applications of the composite BiCMOS transistor in several linear circuits are considered. In all these circuits the BiCMOS composite transistor allows a significant reduction of the power supply voltage requirements. Experimental results for bipolar and MOS transistor arrays are presented
