Abstract :
Regardless of the potential gains from cloud computing, organizations are apprehensive and sluggish in accepting it because of security issues and challenges associated with it. Subsequent to the strategic decision to go on cloud, every organization need to identify the potential security threats and controls that are required to keep the cloud secured. It is important that the organizations need to put considerable effort in ensuring adequate measures are identified and implemented during adoption of cloud solutions. This paper introduces the methodologies for cloud adoption and cloud security assessment to explore potential security and compliance implications in cloud environment. This paper discusses in detail on how an organization may proceed for security and compliance assessment during the cloud computation. The approach and concepts detailed in this paper would be useful for organizations that are involved in the cloud adoption process.
