Abstract
Using the Wiener solution, real quantity of PIA (performance improvement due to adaptation) and δ are derived in an environment which consists of a look-direction and additive receiver noise. The evaluation of scalar equations of PIA are given for two classes of constraints, first is constant gain in the look direction, and second is the constant gain plus a main beam zero first derivatives in the look direction. Expressions of PIA shows that for angles jammer situated outside of the beamwidth between first s (BWFN) region, the introduction of the additional main beam zero first derivative constraint leads to negligible degradation in PIA.
