Abstract :
The most critical issues associated with active power filter (APF) control is that of finding an algorithm which can obtain an accurate harmonic reference signal for control purpose, particularly in the practical case where the harmonics and the system frequency of a power system are time varying. In this paper, an adaptive filtering technology called “adaptive noise canceling (ANC)” based APF is developed; it uses a primary input containing the corrupted signal and a reference input correlated with the fundamental component of the system voltage. The reference input is adaptively filtered and subtracted from the primary input to obtain the desired control reference signal. Its validity is assessed by both simulation and experimental results
