Abstract :
Former manual meter reading has the disadvantages of difficulties of household access, high error rate and waste of labor. The paper raises a design of Ad hoc-based wireless meter reading system, and introduces the hardware and software structures of the system in details. The paper applies an Ad hoc network into wireless meter reading system, improves Ad hoc routing protocol algorithm, and designs a Ad hoc network remote wireless meter reading system with low cost, and high reliability; besides, the above system can detect error and perform automatic alarming, which can be beneficial to actual application.
