Abstract :
In Jianghan plain, generally more rainfall occurs during the main growth period of cotton. So that it is vulnerable to water-logging damage which affects on cotton´s growth and even final output. In order to find an effective way to prevent cotton from severe damage, the test-pit experiment was made in the period of cotton flowering that is fertilizer and the plant growth regulator applied to its growth recovery aiming at the influence of waterlogged stress on cotton. The experimental results showed that cotton´s growth is affected obviously under water logging while proper measures can boost its growth recovery. With the increase of waterlogged stress day, MDA in the functional leaves increase, POD and SOD declined, and the value of SPAD also decreased. It appeared different effects in cotton growth recovery that different proposition of the plant growth regulator and fertilizer was used. The best effect for cotton growth produced through pouring root with brassins and DA-6 and then adding topdressing for many times. Spraying fertilizer again after cotton plants recovery for 8 days, its loss in final yield reduced by 28.57%. And it produced a little effect if merely pouring root with growth regulator. Effect of topdressing used after the plants undergoing a growth recovery for 8 days is better than that done immediately after water logging elimination. It is so that because cotton roots are severely injured under the waterlogged stress, nutrients added can not be absorbed.
