Abstract
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) consist of many small battery powered nodes with limit energy supply, so energy efficient is a vital factor for WSNs. Clustering is one of the energy efficient techniques that extend the sensor network´s lifetime. In this paper, we present and analyze an Efficient Node Partition Clustering protocol using Niching Particle Swarm Optimization (ENPC-NPSO), a protocol that partitions the network field efficiently and the selection of cluster heads (CHs) considers the networks states information. The results of performance evaluation show that ENPC-NPSO can improve system lifetime and data delivery by distributing energy dissipation evenly in the networks.
