Abstract :
The authors propose a compact multichannel echo canceller with a single adaptive filter per channel. They review the conventional multichannel echo canceller based on linear combination, which is superior to the one based on cascaded connection. The problem of the conventional echo canceller is considered by incorporating the talker at the other end into the echo generation model on the receiving side. The structure of the proposed multichannel echo canceller is described. Its convergence characteristics for colored signals and talker change are analyzed, followed by simulation results which show the performance of the proposed echo canceller
