Abstract :
Rotating speed is one of the most important control parameters of rotating machinery. To solve the electromagnetic interference and installation problems of existing speed sensors, a fiber bragg grating(FBG) strain sensing mechanism was applied in speed measurement. The relationship of strain and speed was derived. A FBG-based speed measurement system was established and its feasibility was verified by the testing result.
