  • Abstract
A novel design methodology was used to design an LNA for WLAN applications in the 5 GHz band. The LNA was implemented in a 0.18 μm standard CMOS technology and achieves a gain of 16.7 dB, a noise figure of 1.4 dB and an IIP3 of -2.6 dBm, while dissipating just 4.5 mW from a 1.8 V supply. Compared to previously reported designs, the LNA exhibits good noise figure as well as higher gain and higher linearity at a fraction of the power dissipation.
