Abstract :
This paper presents a novel method for estimating a spectral reflectance from two kinds of input images: an image including both visible light components and near-infrared (NIR) components, and an image including only NIR components. From these input images, we estimate the spectral reflectance based on the Non-negative Matrix Factorization algorithm using spectral sensitivities of a digital camera. The estimated spectral reflectance enables several important applications. In this paper, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by using the estimated spectral reflectance in the two image processing applications.
