Abstract
This paper mainly studies the new control design of the traffic signal lamps at the intersection with the Time-Sharing Control Method (TSCM). According to the intersection of medium and small cities, when the pedestrian and traffic are sparse, the system automatically controls the state of three kinds of signal lamps (the glint of green lamp replaces the function of yellow lamp) on the base of number of people and vehicles on the ground, which makes people and vehicles from single direction or multiple directions pass through the intersection immediately regardless of the previous states of traffic lights. While the traffic is busy, the system will automatically jump to the periodic circular control mode that is quite different from the Traditional Periodic Mode(TPM), it uses inductors like infrared ray, pressure inductors etc to detect the compression of people and vehicles on the cross, then with the information gathered by the inductors and on the base of parameters set in the procedure beforehand, the system will analyze, calculate, and judge the Opening and Closing Time of Traffic Lights(OCTTL) of all directions. The SPCE061A single chip is adopted by the system, in addition, the advantages between TSCM and TPM is discussed in this paper.
