Abstract :
Layer 1 virtual private network (LI-VPN) is new emerging framework that allows clients to directly set up logical topologies and provision their own services without deploying expensive network infrastructure. Emerging and current networks are partitioned in different domains in order to implement different associated administrative, management, control boundaries. For carriers operating multi-domain networks, end-to-end control is becoming increasingly a critical requirement. This paper presents a novel control scheme for shared L1-VPN operation in multi-domain networks and derives both centralized and distributed variants. The paper also analyzes the performance evaluation of resource management model, namely dedicated and shared L1-VPN. Results showed that distributed control provides better network utilization and shared L1-VPN increases the network utilization.
