Lucent Technologies, Bell Lab Innovations (Lucent), Wireless Business Unit, has used its global experience managing projects to develop a project management model that synchronizes and complements changes in business processes and organizational cultures. This article highlights how the software project management team from Lucent Wireless Business Unit uses this project management model to enhance and ensure our software technology and products are delivered in time for the rapidly changing and emerging code division multiple access (CDMA) cellular and personal communication markets. This software project management model has improved and reduced our software development cycle time by fifty percent
