Abstract
This paper describes a process for evaluating the fitness of a technology within its anticipated specific context. The process includes hands-on experimentation with the technology to achieve a greater understanding of its implications as well as early competence development of the people conducting the experiments. Experiments use narrowly focused model problems to sustain or refute hypotheses about the examined technologies. This paper also includes examples of process elements for the evaluation of Web services technology.
