Abstract :
In this paper, we have explained the implementation of the channel guard algorithm which validates the newly added channels in the colorless reconfigurable optical add drop multiplexer (ROADM) system before ramping up their power in the ROADM network to avoid the interference with the existing traffic-carrying channels.
