Abstract :
For the license plate image factored by the light and noise, this paper presents one adaptive method of license plate location based on differential projection. In this method, the first step is gray image processing and image enhancement, then use Sobel edge detection operator to detect plate edge. Followed by the iterative binary algorithm, the result is converted to binary edge map; and design a x shaped window adaptive median filter improved algorithm, effectively eliminate the interference; then calculate the value of differential projection for rough location. Finally, by the vertical projection after hough transform, the plate can located precisely.
