Abstract :
This paper has proposed a new method for evaluating noticeable areas using the difference in amplitude of DFT domain in L*u*v* color space. The method can adequately evaluate noticeable areas such as the shapes of figures and the noticeable plane areas by the consistent manner. Experimental results have shown that the relative values of proposed distinction are useful and the method can evaluate noticeable areas more adequately than the existing method. Our future work should be to normalize DFT coefficients of an image, to select proper coefficients from the viewpoint of visual perception and to consider the distinction based on the color perception.
