In modern cities, waterfront is one of the most popular places, it is one of the key elements which form modern city´s natural and harmonious ecological environment. So, to keep more natural scenery to fully reflect the city´s culture and local characteristics, strengthen the scenery´s uniqueness, we should carefully review this precious resource, especially wetland resource. This article takes the protection of Jingzhou ancient city as an example, analyzes the city´s moat and urban wetland, and propose a view, harnessing the waters is very important, it is the top priority to protect Jingzhou ancient city.
