Abstract
With the development of wireless communications, such as the wireless sensor networks, the low power technology is becoming more and more important. In this paper, the energy model for M-array modulations with channel coding, especially for Reed-Solomon Coded Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM), is proposed. According to this model, we develop an energy-efficient transmission scheme for Reed-Solomon coded QAM systems. To adjust the modulation level and code rate of Reed-Solomon codes based on the proposed scheme can efficiently reduce the energy consumption.
