  • Abstract
An improved integration algorithm to analyze thermal properties of optical fiber composite overhead ground wires (OPGW) is proposed. This method can solve skin effect by distribution function and initial state by numerical calculation, and can also solve the heat exchange performance during short circuit current surge. Experiment results show the proposed method is accurate and effective. Applying the proposed method to several OPGW cables being often used, the relation among their structure, material and thermal properties is analyzed in detail. Analysis results show that the thermal property analysis is significant in choosing the type of OPGW products and their operation and maintenance.
