Abstract :
Motion detection using an optical neurochip is demonstrated for the first time. The chip is successfully utilized for motion detection determining such things as the target trace, speed and the direction of a moving object. The input to the chip is a moving pattern and the output is two-dimensional object trace. To implement motion detection, an internal analog memory function of the chip is used. Fast image processing for two-dimensional optical inputs is also demonstrated using the optical neurochip.
