  • Abstract
As a historic city of Shenyang, the level of urbanization, industrialization is rising, but the research of its urban heat island effect is rarely. In this article, it has used 1992 and 2002 two different periods TM/ETM+ remote sensing images. By using ERDAS IMAGINE image data pre-processing module for multi-band combination, correction of image, and achieving the process of subdivision cutting to draw the approximate range of heat island. And then using that to analysis the surface temperature inversion of Landsat TM (ETM+) data. Normalizing the surface temperature inversion results in different years, by extracting the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), obtained dynamic characteristics of heat island effect. The results show that: the temperature distribution of this region in 1992 and 2002 is significantly different; the green coverage ratio required to achieve a certain time, there are negative relationships between surface temperature and vegetation index. The study provides reference for the follow-up development of the city; also facilitate the decision-making departments to propose mechanism and countermeasures to mitigate heat island effect.
