  • Abstract
    The throughput of an incremental redundancy hybrid forward error correction/automatic retransmission request (IR-hybridARQ) scheme strongly depends on the design of the error correction code. In this paper, we consider ensembles of rate-compatible LDPC codes using an intentional puncturing algorithm in a vertical bell lab layered space-time (V-BLAST) system. We also present an adaptive IR-hybridARQ scheme with a code selection algorithm for reducing the traffic of a feedback channel. With the proposed adaptive code selection algorithm, we can reduce the traffic of the feedback channel for NACK signaling greatly without any significant throughput loss.
