Abstract
We consider the pulse position modulation (PPM) UWB interference to WLAN. Since the PPM UWB signal is almost zero except for the duration of the monocycle pulse, the interference can be considered as an impulse noise. We discuss and simulate the effect of impulsive noise to WLAN. In addition, we propose a method for cancellation of impulsive noise in WLAN, which is derived from the phase characteristics of the impulse function. The proposed method has a simple structure and shows good performance. It is noted that the proposed analysis and the cancellation method can be extended for the other UWB using QPSK, OFDM, and so on.
