Abstract :
Typically, gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) are prepared by chemical reductants that utilize excess toxic reactants, which need to be removed for biological purposes. We utilized a green method involving a simple and convenient seed-mediated growth method to prepare polymer-stabilized colloidal gold by means of an ultra-violet (UV) irradiation technique for evaluating potential effects on conjugation, catalytic performance, free radical scavenging activity and cell viability. The polymer, hyaluronic acid (HA), can act as a reductant as well as particle stabilizer for AuNPs. These HA-AuNPs were introduced and investigated as a function of gold seeds volume and HAuCl4 concentration with HA. The results obtained in the present study indicate that the HA-AuNPs have good biomedical applications in biotechnology.
