Abstract :
We describe a passive optical network using a fiber grating router at the remote node, 8-channel/spl times/50 Mb/s WDM downstream transmission, and 8-channel/spl times/3 Mb/s SCMA upstream transmission. This approach combines the advantages of a downstream WDM PON and an upstream low-cost power-combining PON using Fabry-Perot lasers.
