Abstract :
A visual assessment experiment for evaluating color-difference is discussed based on five ISO SCID 400 digital images by altering the lightness and chroma. The psychological method of categories was used to carry out the visual experiments, 3600 visual assessments were accumulated by 12 normal color vision observers. The relationship between mean lightness, mean chroma and data was analyzed through lightness and chroma histogram to discuss the influence of the images´ contents on visual assessments. The relationship of the visual perception with the CIELAB color difference, mean lightness and mean chroma of the images was derived from the bi-variable linear regression equation.
